some people are just angry.

I was playing my third blitz game of the day, having yet to win one, when I came along a 1400 rated player. I’m around 1300, which is 100 points from my highest rating in blitz, and only a little more than that from my bullet rating. So we’re playing the game, and I’m playing quite fast, a side effect of tilt for me. My opponent comments on it after I blunder a piece, and I tell them why. I had a potential passed pawn, however, and after getting it to the fourth rank, my opponent accused me of sandbagging, to put it simply. I can think of three reasons why that claim is absurd.
1- Why only sandbag to a level where I am winning maybe one or two more games than I would at my “real strength”?
2- The only reason to sandbag that isn’t sick pleasure from farming weaker players (which believe me, I don’t get) is winning lower rated tournaments. I cannot remember the last time I joined a live, let alone blitz, tourney.
3- My opponent also included in the chat that they had played a bunch of sandbaggers recently. Yeah, I don’t think the last 5 games they lost were sandbaggers. Seems unlikely. They reported me, the only possible credible reason being I made a snarky retort to one of their insults. Anyway, if you check my account tomorrow and it’s closed, you know why, and I’ll contact Chess.com. Have a nice day everyone, and may you avoid experiences like this.

Edit, my opponent was a dude, so *him.
