Status Messages.

I prefer seeing a status that is fun or positive, and using it as a weapon (as you say) against someone, is in my opinion wrong too.

Yes thank you Janie. I have personally not been on the receiving end of an induced status message that I am aware of lol but I do see such induced status messages from even well distinguished people here, people who are supposed to set example to others. There are certainly better ways to deal with such people who induce bad status messages, than to make all your friends wonder wth is going on and somewhat spoiling their day in the process!

Once in a blue moon I see something along those lines but it doesn't negatively impact upon me. I'm curious to discover the real dirt, so usually shoot off a quick personal message to clarify matters. Content with fresh gossip, I sleep soundly.

One thing I can think of for making these kind of actions would probably be to provoke a reaction, make a buzz.

lol, that seems like if can't beat them join them type of idea ;) Its like what a teacher did once when walked into a class where the students were all banging their desk. He just sat down and joined them, banging his desk LOL :))) And no I was not in that class but I wish I was hehehe
