Good question. I nominate self-sabotage as the culprit.

     Here's a scam.  If you get a call from (216) 854-0292  It comes out of Ohio. Credit Card Consolidaton through Sprint I believe.  I got a robo call from them. When you press 1 to talk to a real person, he comes on and says, "I see you called us to combine your credit card debt, is that right"?  I said, "No, you called me. I have no credit cards". He swore at me and hung up.  Then I Googled the phone number.
