I'm not trolling here. If this makes you angry just ignore it, move on. I want the people working on this site to know most of us appreciate what they do.

I think it is a great website. Not perfect but very well done. Lots of features. So much offered for free! I pay gladly to support the effort and to get access to more features. I know you get a lot of complaints.

Lag - My ISP (Internet Service Provider) is terrible. For this reason I don't play live games. I'm hoping for a change soon. Waiting on fiber installation. I'm sure there are a lot of factors that cause lag. Traffic on the site, on the internet as a whole, sun spots, neighborhood traffic, and other things. I'm sure you are doing everything you can.

Cheaters - I've seen a lot of people kicked off. So I know you are doing what you can about that issue. It doesn't bother me because I know they are cheating themselves at the same time. Cheating doesn't make you a better player. It makes you a cheater. So you win the game, but you always know you didn't really.

NO OTHER SITE OFFERS SO MUCH AND DOES SO MUCH TO PROMOTE CHESS AROUND THE WORLD. THAT IS WHY MEMBERSHIP KEEPS GROWING.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! KEEP IMPROVING! KNOW THAT WE ARE OUT HERE ENJOYING WHAT YOU DO!

Absolutely agree. I learned to play chess on Chess, com  and I found a great hobby here. Guess I'm hooked for life now.  happy.png

I agree. My only real complaint is I wish membership was more about quality than it was quantity.

I understand but look alodon learned here. The open door draws in new players. Some will stay some will go.

Chess.com has opened up a lot to me, and I'm more than happy with being a paid member. I've met some pretty cool people on here, especially when I was first starting out.

yes

I think chess.com is doing an excellent job.  It attracts a lot of very insightful people who have interesting ideas about chess.  I like that I see a lot of stronger players helping the beginners.  This can only be good for chess.

well for the same reasoning I can tell you that billlions of flyes eat poo, they can't be all wrong...

I agree. Great website really. Helped me appreciate chess, stop being random, and learn how to actually play it somewhat. Sorted me out.

Only reason I don't subscribe is because I'm more interested atm in collecting books and making a little library, but I probably will.

Well, you will be surprised how these numbers come from?

Just look at these members with same profile picture. happy.png

As you can see demonstrated in this thread. For some people the world is a horrible place where everyone is out to deceive them. They look out their window and see poo covered in flies. Convinced by their view of the world they get on the internet. Even coming here to the chess.com forums to paint everything with poo. Everything is not roses nor is it poo. To anyone reading this I say try to have a fair, realistic view of the world. Have some happiness in your life and don't go around throwing poo on everyone else.

Exactly so. For flies, poo is the cornerstone of a nutritious diet, and the breakfast of champions. For humans, it is the exact opposite of that.

And if you do, at least wear disposable gloves...

This is the first chess site I found. I found a second several weeks later. This is the only one I have joined. Generally no complaints other than: 1. I was "muted" unjustifiedly but was able to resolve with Chess.com quickly and 2. I am a premium member but cannot view videos as I should be able to. I raised this with Chess.com over a week ago and have never had a reply. Not a big issue as I seldom try watching videos, but I really did want to see this one by Yasser Seirawan about 960 chess. Will likely continue membership, but when time comes will stop paying for it.

Videos are a diamond level feature.

Those members no longer exist.

I developed interest for chess only after I came across this amazing website. When I started i was like 700s and using all the resources of the website right from tactics/lessons/live games/tournaments to the videos and articles I improved a lot here. I owe everything to chess.com. All the knowledge I gained regarding chess majority has to be due to chess.com.

EDIT: My thinking sometimes misfires too. Below I indicate that I think premium sounds like platinum but I now realize if Diamond is required, the alert should say Diamond membership is required and obviously diamond sounds nothing like premium, even to me. So, as there are three premium memberships (or do I have this terminology incorrect) the alert should definitely say Diamond is required. Anyway, your answer does explain why I can't see the video. Thank you.

Reply to Martin, post #20.

I'm not sure of the levels, so I guess diamond is above platinum. So, as there are two lower levels, gold and platinum, I suggest the alert that stops the video be altered to "Platinum" rather than premium. And, if it already says platinum then my apologies; my hearing sometimes "fools me" and I mishear. I thought it said by becoming a premium member we get access to the videos.
