For me, it’s the ones that blunder in the opening, then use an engine to “get even”, since obviously I must have been cheating for that to have happened. I’m relatively new here, but am still stunned at how much cheating there is
PGAHume

Sadly a lot of these people are me - for which deepest apologies and I really wish I could promise never to do it again.

Once, I hung my queen but my opponent did not take it, when he realized he accused me of hacking into his computer not letting him to take my queen, that was the most annoying person i ever played with, also all the players that all have mentioned.

BlunderTest

The players who, after blundering, begin hanging all their pieces on purpose -- then abandon the game when it's one move away from checkmate.

A waste of time for everyone involved.

CastawayWill

People who hack their time in a bullet game to have 14 days on their clock and get banned but the game glitches and doesn't resign but you don't want to quit because then you lose 173 rating points, and you've played so many chess games that your rating increases by 1 every 159 games.

CastawayWill

does it get any worse

Terminator-T800

The worse players are them freaks that sulk when getting a pair of bishops rammed in their dirt box

Don

What so annoying about a player that reports you if you're not cheating? Chess.com's fair play team is very good, so it's not like anything bad will happen.

Offered me draw and then immediately checkmated me.

That's being super nice, not annoying, settling for a draw instead of a win. Someone send that person a friend request!

Oh, how could I forget this one?

  • The player who is losing really badly (eg. has only king and a couple of pawns against a queen and several minor pieces) and just stops playing, without resigning. Could be a rage-quit, or could be some kind of petty attempt at seeing if the other player might perhaps drop connection or something.
Tamtaramtamtam

The player who is about to lose . He can only do one or two moves, but instead of resigning or actually making a move, he waits for 8 minutes . Or he waits until his time almost reaches zero. And after he let me wait all that time, still has the guts for asking a rematch.

Jenium

1. The dude who trash talks me before the game, tries to claim a win on time and recounts the moves because he cannot believe that I've reached move #40, and then, after winning a close game in a time scramble, tells me that it is such a pitty that the game didn't end in a draw, since he doesn't care at all about the result...

2. The guy who doesn't know how to properly claim a draw and starts having a huge monologue and screaming "This is a draw! This is a draw!" while I am trying to find a move. (In general people who act super confident but don't know the rules.)

  • The one who, in a completely, clearly and unambiguously lost position will keep playing until you mate them, even though it's a 15|10 game and you have 8 minutes left on your clock.
  • The one who falls for an opening trap that he doesn't know, and gets utterly destroyed because of it, and accuses you of and reports you for "cheating".
  • The one who starts a 15|10 game and then complains if you take more than 20 seconds to think on a position.

Sorry but I'm gonna have to criticize you on No. 2

if you are about to lose, then play on because maybe your opponent could blunder or disconnect. aftrer all, you have nothing to lose.

I was playing a guy who cussed me out and accused me of cheating after I won his queen. It was a daily (3-day) game, so to be a jerk he waited until he only had a couple minutes left before making his moves. He was in the Ukraine, so I figured out the time difference and played my move at 3am his time. I figured if he’s going to be a jerk, make him get up in the middle of the night to do it. Eventually he slept through one and lost. Lol

so you're one of those annoying people, huh?

TechnoTurtle666
The guy who auto-resigns after they blunder once, no matter how small, and insists that we play again because it wasn’t fair
