It's interesting to see that the number of searches is reflecting chess.com's growth. Rael is still up there and has almost doubled the number of hits, while batgirl has more than doubled hers.
Your own popularity is easy to explain, Erik. Most of them probably come from Rael's mother and grandmother (see last year's list responses). He may have sent them a pic of you.

If you search chess the first thing that comes up is chess.com..so I can't help but think there's someone who went full circle for awhile until they noticed a small pattern...
Wow. Just another amazing thing about chess.com; we randomly request this list again and Erik's got it up in half an hour. You guys care, and I like that.
Speaking of the iPhone...

I went to history.com and searched history...why would nayone search "chess" on chess.com???

Hey, why is Rael and batgirl the only two (non-staff) that made it up to the top 30? I thought for sure some of the other people like those GM's who post the articles would be up there at least. You should post the top 100 and see if anyone else appears.

I think you should make this a feature. : ) It's always interesting to see someone you know make it to the list, don't you think? OR you could update it every month or something like that.

why somebody would search for "chess" on a chess website is beyond me. as for why people are looking me up... i have no idea. i'd understand it more if they actually knew what i looked like (just kidding!).
