Toxic Community

Hi,

Is there a particular reason why the chess.com community is so toxic? I asked for improvments and boys like edit mod AS are instantly toxic. He feels insulted because I dont want play someone with 20+ years chess knowleadge. They instantly called me a racist. Wrote me insults via DM's. Question is: Is this a common behaivour?

Unfortunately, it's an ongoing issue in this forum. 😞

Report users and please don't publicly call them out

There is so much unfairness in this forum that doesn't sit well with me so I strongly agree with the OP (Original Post Poster).

Welcome to Chess.com. Reports are useless, dont dare speak up or youll be punished by the mods.

Chess dot com does a good job cleaning up the toxicity on their site but,..... there's so much of it because life is toxic. Our history is toxic. You can't turn around without hearing something toxic.

OP is a troll, the only people I think he might've said is me, fet and mrchatty, I didn't send anything toxic in and I doubt fet or mrchatty would, he also sent a toxic dm to me, so just ignor this topic.

@GeckoSoloYT You insulted me multiple times via DM. So, stop crying, stop lying. Don't write if you cant handle a response. You are toxic in every threat. You are a bad human in any meaningful way at least here in this forum.

Anyway, why does the community (not all) decided to be toxic instead of friendly. Is the typical "bully" behaviour of the "entitled" old accounts or is it chess itself represented by our beloved and toxic GM's like Hans/Kramnik

there is some toxicity, but I feel like it’s gotten better but that could just be me.

Social media is toxic. I don't think that chess.com is particularly bad. I am very glad that I was fortunate enough to grow up before the internet and smart phones existed. Growing up is hard enough without having your mind rotted by all the garbage bombarding it nowadays.
