I know a mod is gonna close this forum, but the staffes are hiding something in their 'secret files' or something idk that's the theory
Untold changes in chess.com
This thread is NOT about cheating nor anything related to it, ok?

a major change in the rate of rating points refund due to banned opponents.

LMAOO I DINDT NOTICE THATTTT
Again, it's only a coincidence if that change occured there where I said it was.
That's not the problem what change it is.
The problem is: why such an untold change, and why not telling us what it is and why it's done?
What's the problem?
You guys sure understand the difference between a cosmetic change and a change in the rating system right?
Refund of rating point did not always exist. When it was made, chess.com told us about it. Many welcomed that change for the reasons anybody can imagine.
Before that change, chess.com used to say "no biggie, you'll eventually gain your rating points back with time..." which was such a cynical discourse it unerved many. Chess.com eventually admitted, without saying it, they were wrong with that sort of talking, since they amended the system.
So, why this new change and zero communication about it?
Besides, I tend to believe there could be a connection with that other issue I addressed here:
https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/rating-inflation-18
That remain so far unanswered by the staff.
It got worse, and now one needs 2250 Rapid in order to be among the top 10k.
What is happening or going on chess.com?
If you have opponents closed for fair play violations, you get the points you lost, as long as the games weren't too far back or too old.
If the question is why your not seeing as many closed, the site is catching accounts more quickly, before they have a chance to get paired with as many players.

That said, any discussions around cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. That includes discussions around the magnitude of closures and/or point refunds. Anything around the subject of fair play, or joe the site handles it is included in the restriction.

I tried once to address the issue, maybe in a clumsy way, and while it was absolutely not what is was about, some mod decided I was talking about some forbidden thing, and shut my thread.
This thread is NOT about cheating nor anything related to it, ok? I don't care right now, what I want to talk about, is changes that obviously have been made in chess.com, I never was notified of, and I don't get it why.
These changes can be observed, for those with enough games, in a major change in the rate of rating points refund due to banned opponents.
It used to be, for me, something in the range of 4-12 times for every 50 defeats.
Now, as it seems, it dropped to somewhere like 1 or 2 for every 50 games lost.
And that, since fall last year.
Why? What happened? Why the mute about it? Did what "improvement" happen? Did bots get dismissed for having been wrong too many times or something?
Does anyone know something?
Why such a mystery? I'm genuinely confused, and wish to get an explanation from chess.com staff member.
