Suggestions for Chess.com

I've been abandoned Games frequently. When player is about to lose, he / she just let the timer run. The website says:

"it has been noted and they may have their account restricted." But when I go visit the respective player's account I see multiple players say the same. He / she still plays and still abandons games when he feels loosing.

I believe Chess.com can identify a trend in users who do this frequently.

The following may be a good option. If a player doesn't make a move within 2 minutes, ask the player to confirm that he is connected. Set 'Yes' / 'No' button. If player isn't going to click either of that, lose the match for the player.

In case the player disconnects from internet and not actually abandoned, still the opponent shouldn't suffer to wait.

Live chess doesn't have a per-move constraint and nor should it.  It is up to the player to manage their time.  If someone disconnects you win.  If thy do it regularly then they tend to start getting paired against others who do the same more often.

I never said to implement 'per move time contstraint'. I just said, if a player doesn't make any move for long like 2 minutes, let the player get a popup that asks 'Are you connected?' If player press 'Yes', he is given additional time to make move. If he doesn't press anything, the game ends in a few seconds. Say a 20 seconds. This way, we ensure that we don't wait like 30 minutes but just a few minutes like 2 minutes.

Most player who avoids a game won't keep looking at the board. The game continues only if he is still watching the match.

Maybe some players are doing what some of the professional players do and looking away from the board to visualise different variations.

Set an alarm sound for the ticking 30 seconds. If player looks away from board, they should be notified.

Or set close tracking on players who abandon games and lose them. Set the alarm to such players alone.

The first thing is, Chess.com should start identifying ways to fix the loophole where players just abandon games when loosing. They can think of many probabilities. I just have presented one such way. Chess.com should think of advantages and disadvantages. We discussed this only for a few minutes and came up with many disadvantages and ways to fix them. Definitely chess.com could do a lot better.

For this reason, I've suggested another option:

//set close tracking on players who abandon games and lose them. Set the alarm to such players alone.//

It's within his or her rights when and when not to move and something you'll just have to put up with I'm afraid.

I have never seen a group of people whine so much about winning as here on Chess.com.

There's a rumor that if you buy a premium membership on V3, you'll recieve a free Ergie Shovel. Because there's as much bullshit on THAT version as there is on this versionWink

For gawwds' sake, just take the win and move on.

It's not about winning. If a guy abandons your game, you would obviously win. But it's about the time you wait. I think some may have sufficient time to waste on waiting. Not me.

I play chess when I feel like I need a break from my works. If II'm kept waiting, I neither play nor work. And if I'm in a mood to play, I don't want to forcibly change my mood to work just because someone else who is losing 'intentionally' make you wait.

Chess is a mind game. People would want to be in good mood. What's chess.com going to do about those people who make use of the loopholes? Sit and watch this thread?

I'm afraid you don't own the rights to tell me what to do and what not to do. I know when I should move on and when I should make a post. I initiated this thread because I thought there is something that 'can' be done about these types of cunning players. If you think you can't do anything, there is no point in demotivating me. I think it's Chess.com team members who must think whether they must consider this suggestion or not.
