What do you think about the new chat constraints for non-members?

Non-members can now only speak once every minute. This destroys the camaraderie between players, and impedes personal growth as a chess player. What do you think?

All players registered here are considered members. Perhaps you mean that there is a restriction on free members?

At any rate, where is this a problem? In games? In chat rooms? In groups? In the forum?

At the conclusion of live games I enjoy talking about the game with my opponent.

I am surprised that they would have put in a restriction after the game.

I shopped around at other online chess providers. Chess.com is by far the best quality for online chess.

According to a thread on Reddit, it's a bug and will be fixed.

It's not a bug, it's a desperate attempt to get more premium subscribers. The simple fact is that most people do not care about all the "wonderful" extra crap you get for paying, we just want to play chess.

It is a bug.

Kirkwood, a member of the staff, said it was and promised to fix it.

It was designed to stop spamming during live broadcast chats. It is not supposed to interfere with normal one to one chat.

Sounds like he is trying to spin a coup gone wrong.

It's a bug :(

The 60 second filter is only supposed to apply to games being observed.
