Depends on what you use it for. If you want a lot of free niche software, nothing beats windows. If you want stability and lots of GUI flexibility, linux. Ubuntu is a distribution of linux. Java isn't an operating system. etc etc.

So the best response is "best at what?"

Lmao, Java? Probably Linux. Windows is full of bloat. The main advantage that people typically bring up is application support, but Linux, especially Arch, has a lot of software available for it.
