Ignore trolls and people who bait you in chat. It's not worth it trying to talk over the board, why should you take stuff from someone online? Just ignore them say gg and move on.

What's wrong with people here? Well to begin... they dress funny, never comb their hair and eat pigs at breakfast. They won't cover their mouths when coughing, wear underwear or use deodorant. Don't get me started. Good luck and good chess !

Still the best comment on this thread so far.

All abbreviations should be banned forever.  The world should take a stand!

JUST finished watching the second IRONMAN, movie I think ? It sucked. MY wife just found out Blyth Danner is Gwyneth Paltrow's mother, and that's all she can talk about. I'm getting fed up with these CGI movies and their cartoonish souls. Listening to Ozzie and AC DC was fun. Maybe Hollywood needs a dose of Deep Purple or Judas Priest. Is As guard something you make your teenage daughter wear on a date? Movie studios should have scripts performed on the stage to see if they work there before they commit the resources necessary to make them movies.

Ive been playing here for a long time and there have always been problems with people cussing you out after a game, laughing when you make a mistake or letting their time run out because they are pissed.

But lately it seems it's gotten out of hand on here. I can't remember the last time somebody said something nice to me on here (during or after a game I play). The only thing I get are people calling me names or laughing when they win.

I'm a person who likes to play games, I like to try different things, sometimes I'm good, others I suck, but I'm here to have fun. I also enjoy talking to people, saying gg or thx, asking about a position or just some personal (light) chatter.

Recently I just get annoyed when I play here, it's starting to take the fun out of it for me and I don't understand why these people do it.

Personally, I think the rules should be a bit stricter. If you can't behave or have some common decency, I don't think you should be allowed to play here anymore. Maybe if the rules got a bit sharper, people would behave a bit more.

I hope this rings a bell for some people, I'm sure there are more like me that come here for fun and hate the crap that goes on more and more regularly.

I'm eager to hear your replies.

Unfortunately its the intenet.  Its where people can hide and play the e-thug.  Just understand that the issue isnt with you, its with them.  Annonymity controls people and masks there fears.  Chalk it up to self-esteem issues.

A friend calls the internet electronic beer...it makes you brave.

So if these guys are drinking real beer at the same time they must feel like King Kong?

@ HessianWarrior-------yeah, for sure!

I did disable chat on live chess, but not on online live...because I play my friends, and I choose who my friends are....so  there you go!

I did for a while, but I don't now.

I hardly play live chess and it's only rarely I disabled chat with online games, mostly when they start ordering me to resign. I've played over 4,000 online games and have only disabled chat maybe 5 times.

Oh, yeah, but live can be brutal, I have come across very vain/vulgar personalities, which are dreadful....... takes all the fun out of it!

Online is different, as most just play and don't 'chat', which is good, and I have asked people to resign----only because they needed to, and were just carrying out the game to long and taking up mine and their time.

Things could be better on here, but that is why they have disable chat, thank you Chess.com!

@ Hill61  Believe me I don't drag out a lost position when I think it's lost. Now if my opponet tells me I have to resign because he thinks I have lost then that's different.

Quite a few times I have been down in material but I managed to checkmate them anyway.

I'm one of the guys that talks trash when I win.  I do it because I think it's funny.  My favorite thing when I win is to ask my opponent how to say easy in their country, because they have the little flag next to their name.  It's even better if it's like Canada or something, because I can say "How do you say easy in Canadian?" which is of course a ridiculous question.
