Neither. FIDE rating is something unique and has nothing to do with online ratings. However if you are performing well online you should be able to transition that to otb.
Which site's ratings are more accurate to the FIDE Ratings?

Ya, I agree.. while playing on the board psychology plays a great role. You can feel the pieces and can play much better but we can still estimate..

A lot if maths calculations have been done. But I think they are flawed because people rarely play there FIDE rating when it's worse then their chess.com one. Ratings can be inflated.

Very interesting moderation. All the posts mentioning another site were simply removed, but the topic remains. I kind of like it. So I'll go ahead and repeat the conventional wisdom that each rating pool is different so even with the same rating system the results will not be the same.

Which post got removed?

And WHY?
Erik gets a mite testy whenever a competing site is mentioned in the forums. The mods have orders to enforce this. Usually they just lock the thread after deleting the other site's name. In this case the mod did a little creative editing to allow the thread to stay unlocked.

The moderation has been mine, and I've had to delete several subsequent references as well - if people can't stop doing this, then this thread will be locked as well - we don't really want to have to manage a thread on an ongoing basis. It's already pretty borderline given that moderation doesn't change the URL of the thread.

No matter the site, online blitz tends to be inflated compared to OTB (at least in the ranges I'm used to looking at, maybe below 1000 it's different).
Chess.com blitz ratings are also inflated, but tend to be closer I think.

In general, you have to look at the distribution of ratings on a website and see where you align compared to the pool, and then compared to other players whose OTB ratings you also know, etc
Because online ratings are usually not that accurate and they're never going to be, seeing as it's not the same thing as OTB at all. I think the least accurate ratings are on the website with two numbers in the url, but none are spot-on (and I don't think ratings being super close to OTB is that important really in the grand scheme of things for online websites)

And of course there are a lot of factors that can make your chess.com blitz lower than your OTB.
You have to think about it rationally and compare yourself to others. As an easy example, if you have an internet connection that's sometimes fast, sometimes slow, and sometimes disconnects you, then your rating will suffer.
Young people tend to be faster. If you're a teenager you're probably better than your OTB peers at speed games. If you're a retiree you're probably worse.

the great green chess overlords do not take kindly to talking about their competitors
it is commonly theorized that erik is afraid of them (said so himself in another forum)
pertaining to the topic both are not super accurate, but chess.com is less inflated compared to ~the OTHER site~ (we start at 1200 and they start at 1500)

With all due respect, but so what if a rival site is mentioned? What is the big deal? Maybe this has been explained somewhere before, but i'm too lazy to search for it. Maybe you can explain it again, because i just want to understand what the big deal is here. I find it quite sad that you removed the meme i posted. I created that one all by myself and was quite proud since i'm not much of a tech nerd.

It should be obvious why. You even referred to the site as a rival site. Try figuring it out on your own.

That is not really true. You can choose between 3 different starting ratings on chess.com. 1200, 15 or 1600 and 1800 i believe.

Did i ask you a question?

You should be thankful that I'm educating you for free.
Normally you wouldn't be able to afford me.
I have crossed 1800 on another site in 2 days and I am struggling to reach even 1500 on chess.com? Ya, I have gained around 500 points in last 4 months but after that since 1 month I have gained hardly 40 points. How do I predict my FIDE rating? I am unrated currently but have beated many 1300+ FIDE rated in classic and rapid [OTB].
