Who is more famous Magnus Carlsen or Michael Jackson?

No chess player ever is as famous as Michael Jackson. I see a chess player on the news every few years. It's a strange question really.

It's like asking who is more famous Manchester United FC or your local Darts Team.

Michael Jackson, by a wide, wide margin.

Everyone knows who Michael Jackson is; the vast majority of people wouldn't have a clue who Magnus Carlsen is... just like you wouldn't have a clue who the world Scrabble champion is.

Just like many people wouldn't even know that there is a world Chess champion!

Magnus is huge to us but most people wouldn't have a clue who he was.

Being dead hasn't seemed to hurt MJ's fame. Like many other people who are long dead, they are both better known and make more money than me or Carlesn.
