cause you play and earned trophies and got in top. promoted today from stone to bronze
Why Am I Now In The Stone League?

I do not really understand or care about these new Chess.com leagues but I got an alert today that I have apparently been upgraded from the Wood League to the Stone League.
Do you get such a designation just from playing a lot and how important is success rate? I have played maybe about 30 games in the last few days with only moderate success.
If anybody could shed some light on this I would be most appreciative. Thanks in advance.

If you don't want to take part, you cam leave. Click the league badge on your homepage, profile, or mini-profile popup, then Leave League

will you restart to wood when you leave?
can you enter again?
If you leave and rejoin, you'll be in the league you were in, just in a brand new division.

I saw that I could drop out. I do not mind remaining in even though it does not mean that much to me. It adds a neat little trophy to my profile page.
Does me not really caring ruin the league for others though? If so I will gladly step aside.
Thanks.

You can do what you want to do. I just read that post as you didn't like it.

They put this here for a reason: .
Click on it next time
I did see that option but I decided to try to seek out information using alternate means. Thanks for the advice though. Perhaps next time I will consider clicking on the information symbol. And perhaps not.

Between the Player's League and the Daily Tournament, chess was turning into a real chore, for no payoff. Someone's else's payoff. Leaving those tournaments felt like a new lease on this game.

Except for me. I achieved all the way to Champion League, but got demoted back to wood.
Chess.com, what's going on and can you take me back to the stars?

It was in beta before. It was always going to be reset when released to the whole site. The information in the beta was clear on that.
