thats dumb i think it should let you get OUT of check but yes castling INTO check is a no no but the game still should let you castle OUT of check

I agree, but it's irrelevant because that's not how chess works

Hey people it is just a game !

What do you mean it's just a game? Games have rules. I don't understand why you say that.

I think you should be able to castle into check, but not out of check or through check. The reason I think you should be able to castle into check is too see if you're opposition is paying attention, if they're not you should then be able to take their king with which ever piece or (piece's) you've got controlling the square you're opponent has castled into.

uh

Here's an explanation you might like:

So when your king moves out of check, he moves one square all the time. But if he castled out of check he would be moving 2 squares(kingside castling) or 3 squares(queenside casting.)

I agree. Should be snooze you lose, just like in the real world.

Castle out of check, i don't know about that one. Part of the novelty of castling is that it gets the rock into play, and he can deliver a devastating attack on the opponent with moves such as the peoples elbow and the rock bottom and then generally kick their candy aiysses all over maidison square garden.

hense the devs have to nerf the game, otherwise it would be broken and people stop playing the game. Happens all the time in Magic the gathering, cards get banned and shieiyeyyot since they are too good. The rock go to holywood to be an actor because he was too good at wrestling, beet up all the other guiys, nobody can stop him.

Very good question! It is something I'd like to know too, As like why can't a pawn promote to a king. The rules seem pretty random sometimes.

The inability to castle out of check/through check is the rule. It is a good rule because it makes the game more interesting. This is equivalent to asking why the knight moves in such an unusual way. or what the point or the en passant is

Isn't the point of casting to get your king to safety

Use the warp drive option if you don't understand basic rules of chess

wtf is warp drive I'm on mobile

It’s the rule of chess. Chess.com didn’t make that rule up.

That dumb rule should be removed. When I was in school we always castled out of check, the whole point of castling is to get your king to safety, right?

good luck changing that rule

Simply because check is for your king to take one step out of the way or place another piece in check's way

I just played a game where I was in check, and castling would have gotten me out of check. Yet the game still didn't let me. Any explanation? 😶

...because those are the rules?

Exactly, could be brought in as variant. It could prove very deadly in blitz and bullet.

Now, this...

But then again, that would necessitate the idea that the game has to be played all the way to the capture of the king, rather than just plain checkmate, for any general chess game.

I brought that up in the topic "Why can't I castle out of check". I just wanted to see if the reasons were different for "Why can't you castle out of check".

cause your not actually getting out of the check, you cant move a king while checked ❤️
