It was my first to play a member live.  game called something like 'chess 960 live"

I was wanting to play a normally aligned board with chess pieces in normal positions.

taken by suprise to find the the non pawn pieces in a  mixed up order.  I am new on chess.com and was wanting to play a live person.

in a normal game.   not skilled enough for a strange layout, while trying to get use to ready my and my counters parts next move.

is there a way to play on line with a normal chess piece alignment? like in real chess?

Chess960 is a chess variant where all the pieces are shuffled around randomly. If you want to play regular chess, go to chess.com/play/online (assuming you're using the website) and select 10 minute rapid. It's the one with the green timer symbol.
