Parents are willing to spend on their kids what they wouldn't spend on themselves for various reasons. So let's race to 1000.
ChessKid is aimed at 6 year olds.
Chess.com is aimed at 12 year olds.
I'm 27 and definitely feel like an ancient old man here.
I feel like I am on a website that is really aimed at young children.
Who do you think you are conversing with on these forums ? About 2/3 of the responses you have received already are from children. Partly why this place has gone to ruin in recent years. I've gotten to the point where every time I find a competent adult of any sort, I go to their profile and I 'follow' them. It's really the only way to find something worth posting on anymore. And I'm only following about 15 people ... lol ... just chess.com targeting their most active users.
Every tile has a cartoonish graphic on it, when I analyse a game I have a cartoon coach giving generic commentary on every move.
The statistics page looks awful with all numbers in a huge font but displaying little data or statistical analysis.

Chesskid is a separate website so why do they need to infantilize Chess.com? Why do they need to put cartoon graphics everywhere?
