Maybe you should leave chess.com.  I say this with no personal feelings whatsoever, but you seem to be rude, obnoxious, and hypocritical.  You have posted several other forum topics about vacation abuse, and then said that people put too much junk into the forums to the point where it is impossible to find anything useful.  You have repeatedly complained that people take the maximum amount of time to draw out a game where they are sure to lose, then in a post to ithinkyourespiffy, you complain that he is threatening you, and that you will report him, because you are taking too long on your game (average of 10.3 hours per move).

"You're calling me out? Sounds like a threat which is being reported to chess.com. I have moved 14 times in 6 days which is well within the agreed to one move every three days. If you don't like correspondence chess, try the live chess server, if you can think that fast.

You definitely would not say that to my face...by the way, learn to spell or at least use spell check. Isn't Jr High on Christmas break yet?"

First of all, lose the insults.  They make you look like a child.  Believe me, I would know.  (And btw, it's still two weeks before Christmas.  Does your boss let you off work two weeks before Christmas?)  Second, "sounds like a threat which is being reported to chess.com."  Honestly, get a grip.  "Mommy, the mean bully's thweatening me.  Wahhh."  Basically, that's what that statement sounds like.  I don't say this to be insulting, I'm just pointing it out.  And since when has "calling someone out" been a threat?  It's a challenge, not a threat.  Big difference.  If someone challenges you, you either accept the challenge or look like a coward.  Your choice.  If someone threatens you, it's a fight, deciding who the stronger/better person is.  That, at least, is how I see it.  Of course, I also see leaving a forum post because "the animals are taking over," and then going to start a new post, where the same thing happens, as pointless, but hey, each to his own, right?

Overall, I wish you the best at other chess websites, but I think you will be disappointed.  The problem is not with other people, it's with you.  If you had a little more patience, you would be fine with this.  Isn't that what chess is about?  Patience and strategic thinking?  You obviously have one of those, and it's not patience.  And remember, chess is like life.  There are always going to be people who abuse the system and irritate everyone around them.  Does that mean you should stay away from wherever they go and deprive yourself?  Of course not.  Get used to it, but stay away from them as much as possible.  There is a stat that measures how much time people spend on vacation.  Only play people who have little or no vacation time, and lighten up.  Smile    Honestly, I take back what I said at the beginning of this post about wanting you to leave.  I've read some of your forum posts, and you have an interesting viewpoint which makes conversation interesting.  Just start choosing your opponents more wisely.  Do that, and everyone will be happy.  Laughing

Lol, what an attention seeker. If you were truly that upset with chess.com, you would have left silently, and not allowed generated more forum posting with this thread.

Grow up bro.

I couldn't have said it better.

This is my first time posting, and I just have to say your excuses are horrible.

This is the interent, when you agree go come to this website (by logging in), you also agree to the jerks and idiots that come along with every website.

I am sure that you have been ridiculed at least once in your life, if you haven't then consider it a learning experience.  There are jerks and idiots in life and no doubt you will come across one sooner or later.  The best anyone can do is ignore them because they are the sore losers, the sore winners, and just the assholes in general.  (sorry if "asshole" offends anyone).

Complaining or whining about how people don't treat you like a god is NOT the way to go.

I think that covers the first 3 excuses of yours.

Now, for number 4, what browser do you use?

Personally, I use firefox and I think it is one of the best around if not the best.  It comes with its own ad-blocker (althought you can install the ad-on, ad-blocker plus, which is obviously better), and also there is a very good no-script add-on. (all of which are easily accessable and downloadable at the firefox website)  With these, so far I have never seen a "banner ad" that hinders my game or distracts me in any way.

Finally, your OTB rating.  This is online chess, now I'm sure anyone can think of a way to cheat/hack or anything to increase their actual ability.  Your rating means NOTHING.  Now I use chess.com because generally I cannot find many tournaments near my area or I do not have time to attend those tournaments, so I play online chess when I have the time.  This is so I can have fun and learn from others and my mistakes.

I am very sorry if my post has offended you or anyone in any way whatsoever, but I felt a strong urge to post at your excuses.  Do not quit chess because of your ego.  This is not reality, it is a community of random strangers, who will comment at anything (including this).  Do not quit chess because personally I think it is a great intellectual game, but hey, you don't have to listen to me.

Why all this fuss about vacation abuse?

If you have an opponent in an inescapable position and he or she decides to retreat by going on vacation for a month, start another game and forget about it until the vacation time runs out. (This may not even be necessary; honestly, how many people on this site are playing only one game?) Eventually the vacation will expire, and you will win by checkmate or time.

If you beat me, I am merely defeated. Only if I cannot handle that do I become a loser.

Garry is ANGRY! RM is leaving the site. He is giving away somerthing for almost nothing. Why he would do this makes NO sense.

it shouldnt be about the rating, it should just be about having fun and playing because you enjoy the game.

It should be about having fun and the rating, the rating tells you if youre improving and you improve by learning and winning. Everybody knows that winning is fun....  So it should be about both.  Mainly fun though.

 very valid points!

I hope reservesmonkey will reconsider. T

here are many really nice people on this site, and occasionally someone who is unpleasant. If I get someone who demands that I "MOVE!" usually I finish the game, and refuse to play with that person again, regardless of which one of us wins that game. I have found certain people who have a good sense of humor, are competitive without being overbearing, and even if we hardly chat, I have a good feeling about them and enjoy playing with them.

I don't know about the banners, they haven't been bothering me, but I guess it is a matter of taste. I am sure that the site needs to sustain itself, and my own personal feeling is that I the advertising is does not seem intrusive and what is the alternative? If it was a for-pay only site, then I doubt that there would be such a large number of subscribers.

I wish reservemonkey well regardless of whether he stays or not, and I do hope that you will reconsider.

i can understand your grievances to an extent, however, the reasons to leave a chess site is solely up to you. I've been to quite a few non paying chess sites and find this one, overall, to be really the best one out there. About the posts and If they really disturb you , just play chess and ingnore the forums. I've played people who took vacations, no big deal, I play ten or more games at a time and don't really notice or care. Some may abuse it, but don't make it personal. Many take vacation's for legit reasons, a planned trip, studying for a chess tournament, work related. There can be a number of reasons. It's not always just to annoy their opponent. Stay a little longer, reservesmonkey, and give it another chance!
