To avoid voidness I would gladly accept the set...my submission is from a while back

Very puzzling why more people didn't write the essay to enter the contest. Maybe some thought it wasn't true, surly their loss. What a shame.

What's puzzling is why this has taken 3+ months and the prize mentioned in the description hasn't been given away yet. The time stipulated in the original post was less than half that. And now it seems there might not be any winner, since as we all know the last sincere post was from the 5th of November? Count me out people.

honestly expected so much more input, especially since we ran the first competition successfully; I have all along posted that a lot more posts are required...read through and you will see! ....but sure I will count you out.

The chess set I would like to have can be found here.
I think that this is one of the best sets, if not the best set I have ever seen. And what do I think makes it so great. For its ability to be so simple, yet so great. The knights, in which I have never seen a knight like it, and how it instantly becomes my favorite knight I've ever seen. The Queens and Kings, for looking as though they are made for the same set. The pawns for being perfect in every way. Even the box, which is so rare to find a good one, seems, not just good, but amazing. I couldn't ask for a better set. As a whole, this set is near flawless, enough to catch the eye of even the most unsatisfyable chess set collectors dream.
So, with much more to say, I must wrap this up, and let the competition continue, with just one last thing to say. I'll rate this set five stars easily.
Finally thank you, and keep on having competitions.

If this thread was in "Chess Equipment & Books" forum it might have been more successful. When I saw it in Chess Community I figured many who were interested in chess sets and boards may have missed it.

It would probably have been more successful were it sent into deep space for the hope of aliens, with a loudspeaker playing The Beatles' albums and a sign reading 'Stay away'. Just saying.

There was never a minimum number of entries given, that's the problem I had with this. It also wasn't clear from the OP's description that the valid entries would be used as promotional material on Official Staunton's website. I am perfectly OK with that, but since I think it's obvious that OS benefited in some way from this, I think it's only fair for the participants of this thread to want to hold GM4U to the conditions and descriptions he outlined in the beginning, so as to make this the mutually beneficial thing that it was all along supposed to be.

I also wrote a review for OS on this forum elsewhere, since I think they have excellent products. But what's fair is fair.

Maik relax buddy! you of all people ought to know I am more than fair! you purchased a 3.5 library set from us, it had cracked pieces, we sent another full set, you reported that had a cracked piece also, we refunded you and advised to keep both sets and we would advise you when we have perfected the new design etc etc.....
so you know we are very fair!! :)
relax my man

Yeah I know, that was indeed very generous. I guess I've been getting a bit excited lately because I've actually been improving at chess, which is also quite important! A couple of days ago I beat my first titled player, a Dutch CM, in long play, in a chess.com tournament after he sort of bungled the opening. Incidentally, he used to be a reality tv star for a while, after making about a million euro on a programme a little bit like big brother. The people you meet on the internet...
