Does tablebase automatically use volume of move tree as a criterion for showing moves with same DTM?

In trying to memorize bishop and knight mates, a problem arises that you want to learn/memorize the lines with the fewest complications. When choosing between moves with equal DTM, I'm wondering if the tablebase automatically chooses lines with the fewest complications, i.e. the move tree with the least moves. Google doesn't seem to give great answers here so I was wondering if anyone knew.

Nalimov tablebases will give the quickest options to mate. Syzygy tablebases don't.

I believe following tablebase leads only to one of the shortest paths to mate (equal distance is all it sees if I'm correct). Not necessarily the most efficient path regarding choices.

Btw, why memorize tablebase moves? Not intended as an educational environment, it lacks the structure humans need to learn something. Better follow any of the books, video's or articles which help you to get the job done within 50 moves. There is no special reward for accomplishing the fastest mate.
