Endgame study
Hey @tamil_an_sri 👋
If you’re talking about how to checkmate with a king and queen versus a lone king, here’s a simple way to do it:
-
Use your queen to trap the opponent’s king by cutting off their escape squares.
-
Slowly bring your king closer to help the queen finish the job.
-
Once the enemy king is on the edge of the board, move your queen one square away from it — this forces their king into the corner.
-
Finally, move your king next to your queen and deliver checkmate with the queen on the opposite side of your king.
It takes a bit of practice, but once you learn the pattern, it’s one of the easiest mates to do in chess! 😄
