Middle game to end game rook vs two knights

Without sharing a match going on, just curious being new. I am up a point, I have a rook and my opponent has two knights (well i have two rooks, he has a rook and two knights), and we both have our queens. Is it to my advantage to clear the clutter and open the game up so the rooks can be most advantagous, in other words trade off  pieces to create space, all things being equal.

Hello! Is this a current game? If it is, then it is cheating to recieve help from others, and you should delete this forum before you are able to cheat with it. Thanks

I'd say, in most cases when the material is (almost) equal but imbalanced, the more pieces the better. E.g. two minor pieces are generally better than a rook, two rooks are generally better than a queen, etc. The main reasoning is that two pieces attack a target (like a pawn) twice and one piece only defends it once.

But all I just said is way too general, details of the position matter. Besides, one piece is always easier to look after in time trouble.
