This can help you if you have an endgame position with an king and rook for white or black what ever colour you are!and an king!

Actually, Shredder's tablebase says there are a number of mates in 12.  Kd3 Kd5 Re4 Kc5 Rd4 Kb5 Rc4 Ka5 Kc3 Kb5 Kb3 Ka5 Rb4 Ka6 Ka4 Ka7 Ka5 Ka8 Kb6 Kb8 Rc4 Ka8 Rc8 is one of them.

That could happen too but after 4.Kc6 in your puzzle Matalino black doesn't have to play Kb8 it could play Kd8 and play it back and forth until you do something about the square d8 and c8!

....Kd8 results in mate in two 1.Re5 (Black is in zugzwang) 1....Kc8 2.Re8#

It is easy for you because your a very good chess player put for people under 1500 it might be hard!
