My favorite is Silman's Endgame Course (paperback). When I first started playing tournament chess in the mid-70s, I read most of Paul Keres' Practical Chess Endings (hardcover in descriptive notation).  It is a great book, which fortunately now is available in algebraic notation (Batsford, 2018).

i have never read any actual chess book that was meant to teach u something about the game lol i guess i learned by looking at some games here and there, or someone speaking about it, or by seeing common moves, etc

Bruce Pandolfini's endgame course is very good for beginners - well explained and can be treated like puzzles.

I remember that one!

Start with 100 endgames by De La Villa. Art of the checkmate is good for seeing mating patterns in the early and middle game. My System by Nimzowitsch is also great for developing strategy. Those would all have applicability to a lower level player.

But I’d focus more on tactics and reviewing analysis of your games. That said, I like your enthusiasm for the game, message me if you want advice or have a question. I’d be happy to help how I can.

Only endgame book I’ve ever really read was Practical Chess Endings by Keres, but I liked it a lot.

Reuben Fine - Basic Chess Endings

I went through every example on all 573 pages. This study changed my perception of every phase of the game and ended up improving my rating by almost 500 points.

It's also an invaluable reference for evaluating any endgame position.

You get a copy, then you start reading.

To add a less known book to the list: Soltis: "Grandmaster Sectrets Endings" is a really cool book.
