2000 Puzzle rating grind as a NOOB.

Guys, I got my puzzle rating up to 2000! Figured if I suck at chess, I'll just grind tactics tell I somehow become better. 

Hmm. Looks like you started doing this 6 months ago, played almost 4,000 puzzles and got your puzzles rating up to 2043.

Then you fell back to below 1900 and stopped doing puzzles.

What happened? Burned out on puzzles?

I see you have discovered that you can take your time solving the puzzles and still get 5 points.

Personally, I think that Puzzle Rush presents the types of puzzles you might see in your regular games and have to solve in just a few seconds.

I'm mostly just happy I got it back up. I stopped for a minute because it got frustrated. Started taking more time and accepting the 5 point gains. It pays off a lot better. My next goal is 2500. Also a experiment to see if someone like me who is bad at chess can get a 3000 puzzle rating or above. I know puzzle rating has nothing to do with rapid but I have never seen anyone in my rating rage have my current puzzle rating. I also check to see after every game.

Grinding puzzles does help you get better, especially when you go beyond just solving and really understand the tactical themes.

I started doing much better recently after taking my time. I'm trying to solve the entire puzzle before I move anything.

Just stop even trying to compare the puzzle rating and the game rating

I don't mean that literally. I'm saying it's the only thing I have honestly. I think it would be hilarious if someone who was only rated 600 had a 3000 puzzle rating. On the flip side, me being so bad at chess is probably rare when you have such a high tactics rating. I'm just good at tactics, but bad at chess.
