  7. Compare Your Answer With the Solution.
  8. Study the Solution to the Puzzle.

Why is #1 a question? Doing an evaluation seems like a good idea.

We don't use the word "smite" a lot in this century. Does smiting mean mate to you or just any capture? I assume that just giving check would not be considered smiting. Can the game continue after a smiting?

Find weakness(es) in the opponents position.

Decide what part of the board you should play on.

Look for forcing moves.
