Cheating in chess, unfortunately, happens more often than it should. But I urge every beginner: never, ever use an engine—not even if you suspect your opponent is cheating. It may seem tempting in the moment, but in truth, it only damages your own chess progress and integrity.
Over the past three weeks, I’ve had rating points returned to me on both Chess.com and Lichess, as several of my opponents were caught and banned for cheating. That only strengthens my belief: hard work always pays off.
Let those who cheat feed their egos and hide their insecurities. We choose a different path. We fight for every single rating point. That struggle, that honest battle, is what makes chess the most beautiful game in the world.
So to all who love this game: earn your points the hard way. There are no shortcuts. There are no cheat codes. Just you, the board, and your will to grow. Let's struggle together, and become better—one honest move at a time.
