Account making mistake

So I joined chess.com some time ago, the problem is that I over estimated my skills and said I'm a 'beginner', now I'm playing with 1200 points, which I don't think I should have. Am I stuck playing with people that are much much better then me? Is there a way to lower my rankings?

You haven't played any games yet. When you are a new player, ratings quickly adjust to the right level.
Millions of players have started here with a 1200 rating.
