You won't be able to tell the difference between a 2000, a 2500 and a 3000 rated player. They'll all destroy you in about the same number of moves.

So you might as well just play anyone rated around 2000. There's a lot more of them around than grandmasters.

@Deranged well I know I ask because I want to well learn from them and everything.

No offence, but I don't think a GM would want to play you with a rating of 865. There is no plus side for them unless you are playing them to play you and to give you advice.

Just work hard at your chess. Study. Practice. Play Play Play. And maybe one day you will get your shot at a GM.

Cheers

Richie

you have to get 2200+ in order to have a chance to play a GM

More like 2300 blitz to get a shot at GMs (I still rarely get one) If you want many GMs you probably need 2600 blitz (which is at least NM probably) if u can’t get that high then u will probably just have to pay a GM to play u

i played gm's before at 2200 bullet level

2200 is like the minimum rating though to have a chance

lots of NM's though at 2200

You´re 800. There is a lot you could learn from a 2000. Noone goes from 800 straight to GM level. Anyway, there´s more to good coaching than just rating level.

Most NM's are 2400ish in blitz from what I've seen. Sadly, I am the exception as I don't play too often anymore. sad.pngsad.pngsad.png

If you subscribe to a GM on twitch, you can literally ask them for a game, or if they are a large GM, you may have to queue up for a chance.

Through Twitch, I've managed to play Hikaru Nakamura 3 times, Daniel Naroditsky 3 times, Roeland Prujjers about 15 times, JJ (Last7Samarui) about 10 times and Chessbrah (Aman Hambleton and Eric Hansen) about 15 times collectively.

+1 played Hambleton and Hansen each a few times through it

I do think it would be interesting for a player of your caliber to face a GM and it would be a nice experience to play them, although there is a very high chance you may not get the results you want.

But grinding at your level is much more important @boogieman2000 no offense.

I am just trying to say that studying and playing more where you have a better chance of winning and learning on your level would be the greatest for you.

But even so I think everyone has dreamed about playing GM's while not being the highest rated, but regardless it is understandable, however it is not productive, that's all.

@Kraig so how did you do against the GMs you went against?
Avatar of Kraig
I think my overall score is something like 2 wins and 60 losses @ boogie man. You can’t expect to win!

Usually someone a mere 400 points higher rated is expected to win 93% of the time, so being outranked by 1,000 points - you can only hope for fluke chances.
1 game I won, was on time.
The other was checkmate but it was vs Daniel Naroditsky who gave me 3 mins vs his 45 seconds - so not a real win. The other game I won was a fair 3+0 rated blitz game, but like I said, I won on time with a worse position.

@Kraig and I just won my first game with a checkmate
