How can I use my chess knowledge in my games? I always play automatic moves or moves without a clear plan and thinking process. I also find it difficult to calculate moves ahead when there are no forcing moves or tactics.

Yeah bro, and rly, rounding 1788 down to 1700? I basically play 99% on intuition and theory

Well, the easy fix for that would be to simply calculate concrete lines instead of relying on intuition...

My intuition beats my calculation though, last time i tried to calculate more i went from 1844 to 1740

probably because you don't calculate the right things. Your intuition has to lead your calculations by narrowing your search space, e.g. identifying candidate moves quickly. But at a certain point you can't get better without calculating more.

Also, chess.com puzzles are not suited well for this. If you really want to improve, I would get a good book (e.g. Calculation by Jacob Aagard).

I made it my goal to hit 2000 without spending a single dime on improvement, ive been doing free online calculation puzzle exercises

just fokus on what do i want to achieve with your move so atleast try to always have some logic behind moves maybe read some strategic middlegame books so that you get used to many strategic ideas
