folks I am just a beginner and although i can do puzzles quite well. My games are pretty rubbish. So what are the choices when playing others other than 5 minute blitz ?

that's just scary.

Have you tried Daily chess?  It's nice.

I recommend playing 15|10 (15 minutes per game and 10 seconds increment per move). It's not too fast and not too slow. Don't compare puzzle rating and your playing ratings, for example if you are 2000 in puzzles that doesn't mean you should be 2000 in rapid.
