Bad idea..

To play chess during a road trip across the state. Lost two games due to my internet cutting out. Really hurts to lose a game that way. And not to mention today just seems like a day where I am way off. Trying to power through a bad day, but man .... I gotta admit I'm horribly discouraged.

Unruly passengers didn't help either.

It's just heartbreaking to lose that way. I was winning my last game too. I was in a completely winning position and it just cut off. I was just in disbelief. I'm trying really hard to reach 1000 and stupid losses like that don't help.

If someone feels up to doing a kindness, apologize to Robert Eagle for me. He blocked me for some reason. I wasn't able to explain what happened before he decided to block my account.

Wits-end

Doesn’t sound very sanguine of him blocking you like that.

They won on a technicality then blocked you......
More than likely, they knew what happened since the opponent's reception bars are visible during play.

Sounds like a real punk to me.

I guess I'm too nice of a guy. Lmao But yea, I didn't understand why he'd block me. Seems a little stuck up. I'd have liked to rematch but oh well. These things happen I suppose. But yea, I'm pretty bummed about those games. I don't like losing points that way.

Naahh, I just don't like losing points because of a bad connection. In my opinion, there should be a better way of dealing with that kind of thing instead of just getting points knocked off because your reception is bad. If I lose points I'd rather lose them through an honest, hard fought game that I happened not to win.

But there is one flaw in your logic: you do not have to play games in the car where you have bad wifi. Why not just wait?

I suppose you are right. Three hour car ride and i was itching to play. Patience would have been the best approach there. But I guess lesson learned. Puzzles on the road and not games.

Yeah. Puzzles would be fine. Or just play unrated games or on a different site.

Nice people say things like: please, thank you; no thanks.  They don't say, "I'm so sorry that I lost to you for having a bad connection!  Please understand that I was traveling on my way to Florida at the time to see my grandmother.  She's on life support.  I hope I didn't offend you!"

🤷‍♂️ I don't know, dude. I didn't plan on groveling with an apology over a bad connection but rather ask for a rematch after giving a simple explanation that a bad connection cut off the game. Lmao As I said, those kinds of losses really grate on my nerves. Even now I'm still kinda fuming over it. But like you said, dude is probably some kinda stuck up punk. I likely would have been wasting my breath.
