I am new to Chess.com and going through the tutorials.  The following position has me baffled - it is black to move but the tutorial says the following: "Black's rook cannot capture the pawn because of the back rank".

I don't understand why black cannot simply take the white pawn on b7.  Is this an error or am I missing a rule here. Any explanation greatly appreciated.
