I learned how to play chess in middle school, but I recently started to pick it up and play again online in quarantine. Could you point me to some free online resources to help me improve? I pretty much only know how to move and opening principles control the middle. Otherwise I am just winging it until I win or lose. I tried some drills and puzzles here on chess.com but many of them are locked behind premium. Thank you.

Go to YouTube and search for John Bartholomew's Chess Fundamentals Playlist. He's an amazing teacher and very likeable as well.
