Best way to develop foresight?

Hi!

I think my biggest issue in chess right now is just foresight (<400 ELO). Like on puzzles where I have to position a piece and then sacrifice a piece to get a mate, or something like that, I'm so bad. I think it happens in games where I don't even realize that I may be two or three moves away from saving a lost game, or trashing a winning game. How can I develop that skill? I've been doing a ton of puzzles but sometimes the answer doesn't make sense and I'm not sure if there's more/better ways of practicing for that specific skill.

Thanks!

Remember to take your time. If you think you have a potential for checkmate, and you have a good amount of time, take that time to develop a strategy that works best for the situation you are presented with.

I see you have a much higher Elo in puzzles than in games. If you look at my profile, I have the same problem. Keep working in your puzzle score, but add some Puzzle Rush and start working on time. Your pattern recognition is starting to be there, but you are probably still slow to properly use it in game.
