If you go Nxc2+ Kh1 Nxa1 your bishop on g4 is still hanging and I am also sceptical about the knights chances of escaping from the corner.
In fact white is probably better after Nxc2+ Kh1 Nxa1.

Thank you. I see that now. I guess that's why I'm only an 847. You'd think that after nearly two weeks of playing I'd be a 2200 by now! (hahahaha)
Ha ha patience young Padawan! It's not always the case and actually is not necessarily relevant to this puzzle, but usually any move that gives a double check like Nxf3+ (uncovering Bc5+ as well) is exceptionally dangerous because the options for escaping the check(s) are much reduced. In a game or a puzzle scenario such a move should be the first option to explore.

I put this in beginners because I'm a beginner and I'm probably wrong, but...
puzzle #1008766
My solution was to win a rook with 1... Nxc2 2. Kh1 Nxa8 with the knight possibly able to escape.
The "correct" solution was to win a rook with 1...Nxf3 2. Kh1 Nh2 3. Qe1 Nxf1 with immediate loss of the knight.
I won the rook in 2 moves and possibly kept the knight, and the correct answer took 3 moves and lost the knight.
What am I missing?
