I play against the cpu a lot, it helped me Learning to defend better, and Being forced to never slack when calculating or Ill get bulldozed, any time spent playing chess is an opportunity to improve.

Playing bots is good for practice but bots recognize your tactics faster than players, also you can't practice the time management with bots
i have to play against bots because in my chess club i have no internet
