Just got this book for kindle. Seems like a perfect beginners tactics book and enjoying it. It has something like 300 mate in ones, 3000 mate in twos, a thousand mate in threes, etc. Diagrams are nice and clear, and easy to use this on the go on a phone whenever bored.

I used to have that book years ago. Bought it out of a discount bin for $5.

I went through some of the problems, but there are so many queen sacrifices, it wasn't really teaching me any tactical patterns.

There are tons of tactical patterns in chess to learn. Most don't have the "bling" of a checkmate, and certainly not a checkmate where you sacrifice a queen.

Chess never solved by a book, cz its have infinity of tactical moves.

I'm sure I've sacrificed a queen for a mate on occasion, but certainly not on a regular basis. Looking at the exercises in "5334 Problems", one might think queen sacrifice mates are just waiting to be plucked in a game. 🤣

So far seems to improved my use of the knights.

What are some other similar book suggestions people have?

I personally use Chess King Training. I have a lifetime subscription.

I covers most of what you need to improve, and compliments Chessbase training material and various chess dvd stuff from a variety of grandmasters.

Of course it would pair very well if a person had a chess coach too.
