Hi, Today i had this situation: A white rook is protected by a white knight. But this knight is pinned to the white king. Now is it allowed to the black king to take the rook? Yes the rook is protected and it would be chess but does it matter that the knight is pinned? Thanks

A piece is considered to attack a square even if this piece is constrained from moving to that square because it would then leave or place the king of its own

colour under attack.

Therefore it does not matter if the knight is pinned in your example.

This is one of the most common questions in chess.
