In the counting capture lesson the first example in the video is confusing me. I tried to put a screen capture on but it wouldn't let me. I was hoping someone would look at the first couple seconds of the video and explain why the rook takes pawn, rook takes rook, then bishop takes rook. I was thinking, bishop should take pawn first, then rook takes bishop, finally rook takes rook, leaving a rook. Thank you in advance if anyone is will to take the time.
First of all, if you play Bxd5 first, black will not play Rxd5, it would be foolish to give up his rook for your bishop. So you win only the pawn either way.
Second, all this "rook takes pawn, rook takes rook, then bishop takes rook" talk is really confusing and makes it hard for others to understand what you are trying to say. It is only a small effort to learn chess notation, and it's worth it.

Thank you, that makes sense and I am learning it, and will use it in the future.
But you are correct. After 1 Bxd5, if black responds 1.. Rxd5, then white makes the final capture 2 Rxd5.
