Daily Chess - Why do I get multiple matchups when I click "play"?

New player here.  I've been playing mostly daily chess games, but I notice that sometimes when I click "play" with the default 1 day time controls, I will get multiple games started with the same player.  Sometimes up to 4 games.

At this point, I'm only looking to play 1 or 2 games at once, I don't want multiple games when clicking "play".  How do I avoid this?

Are you starting your games from Play>Play or Play>Daily?  Pretty sure Play>Play is where they try out Beta features and sometimes they still need further development.  

I've been in Play>Play when starting games.  I'll do it from Play>Daily from now on to see if that helps.  Thank you!!

I never would have thought there would have been a difference between the two.  Lots of odd little nooks and crannies in this UI that I still need to get used to.

Hmm...Looks like it takes you to the same place now.  How about Home>Settings>Daily Chess and then enter a number into "maximum number of games at once" ?

You're right about all the nooks and crannies though...LOL.  And they're constantly "improving" the site as well.
