ding is almost belittled everywhere but it is to be noted that he was a chess world champion and while everyone rooted for Gukesh Dommaraju, ding was able to shut them up by winning the first round of world chess championship 2024. so overall he might not be looked down upon since he is a grand master and is capable to defeating you in less than three ten moves

I have heard many people say that he was quite a fierce competitor and that he absolutely deserved his chance to get the title and that he won it fairly. They just don't understand why he has faced so many difficulties since he won.
