400-500 to have any potential in chess? Who told you that?
You've only been playing on chess.com for a month. I'd give it a little more time before calling it quits.

Everybody starts at around that level. Just enjoy the game. Who cares if you aren't the next Capablanca? Nobody is immediately at 400-500 "naturally" in their first few chess games - you need a bit of experience just to learn to see where the pieces can go. But you will improve if you keep playing and having fun. You have a membership, so I'd say try easy Puzzles too, and the site's Lessons.
The most important thing would be to pay attention to the game. Use your time and think. Don't play random moves.
Your last game:

On move 8 you decide to throw away the piece for no reason. Your opponent doesn't take it, and then you blunder the piece again. Your opponent ignores it again and so do you. And so on for several moves.
You somehow get out of all this with a material gain, but then later you throw away another piece (on move 16) and then the queen too.
All in all, you banged out 25 random moves in less than 3 minutes, and lost all your pieces.
Don't do that. Don't play random moves. Use your time and think.
Hey everyone, I have just recently gotten into chess. My rating is abysmal (typically 150-200 but even lower today) and I have heard I should be at 400-500 naturally if I have any potential in chess. I have fun playing usually but lately I have been feeling like I cant get better at the game. I have tried reviewing my games and trying to focus on just not hanging pieces, but I keep making stupid mistakes and playing like hot garbage. Its starting to get to the point that I feel like I should give up trying to learn. I don't want to be the best chess player ever. I just want to see some improvement but I feel like I'm stuck and I'm just inherently so bad at chess there is no point in continuing to learn.
Intelligent post, until one sees your games. Your rating is exactly where you need to be, because you make 0 effort in taking your time to think through moves. What do you expect when you randomly move pieces around the board and give them away for free?
A lot of people on here will tell you to play real people, not bots, but I'm going to suggest that you give up on real people for a while and play Coach--not bots--Coach. Select the level for New to Chess (200), and play through a bunch of games. Coach will tell you if you've made an error and will allow you to take it back. They will also make comments on the game as it progresses. After a bunch of games with the coach, go to the Martin bot and set it to the level where you can get hints and takebacks. Gradually work up to no hints and no takebacks, and when you can beat Martin that way 3 times in a row, move up. Also make use of lessons and puzzles here. Above all, take your flippin' time! After every move think about captures, checks, and threats. Good luck.

Wait, you havent become best im the world after a full month of practicing? Big surprise. If you need any help or advice on how to get better, feel free to DM me
You don't need to have an Elo of 300-500 to have chess potential. Keep playing, and the experience will accumulate on its own

Also, youre having fun, thats the modt important thing, i know people who have been 100 for 2 years + but didnt care because they had fun
Have you read any of the classic instruction books? A few weeks with Reinfeld’s Complete Chess Course or Chernev’s Logical Chess Move By Move will be more helpful than playing hundreds of games against other beginners.
Play 15+10 and use your time. If you don't enjoy playing then quit. Remember - chess skill is not a measure of intelligence. Don't let the miserable trolls here put you down. Chess is their life and they have nothing else.
