All of the above That's how I got to 900+. Pay particular attention to Opening Principles! That's what made the biggest difference to me. I climbed from around 500 to 700 pretty easily just by applying solid opening principles.
If you can afford to then take an hour or 2 of coaching to drill these. Made a massive difference to me.
Also, longer games. Don't play blitz & bullet. You'll learn nothing. Stick to rapid and at least 20-30 minute games. You'll have more time to consider your moves and give you a better chance of finding the best one Good luck!
Study master games!
There are tons of resources available for you to look at master games. Books, youtube, chessgames.com are the biggest ones I could think of.
Morphy, Capablanca, and Alekhine are great to start out. Any soviet master from the post world war II period will give you tons of ideas.
Dont blunder.
At our level the player who blunders least will win. Basically, don't worry about winning, just don't lose
play rapid 20minutes atleast.. ecen 10m is not enough.. whenever u put a piece remember to check the #1safety of the piece... and learn the counter of the standart low level traps like scholar mate(🙄), fried liver, queen attack on 2nd move... and last.. learn 2.. just 2 opening 1 for white(i learn only vienna) and kings Indian for black... i mean i love to try this or that in the bullet but for fun only.. until i reach around 1200, i start to learn the second opening for white(english).. just keep it simple, dont blunder, and u will get 1200ish i think
high level players... what do you recommend learning for 700 - 800 chess players that could give us a upper hand?
