hey, am new was hoping of making new friends to help develop my skills am pretty much new to the game

Hello, just a thought as you get started, try to focus mainly on rapid games (time controls 15|10 and 30). Starting with blitz is difficult. I started playing only 10 minute matches at the beginning and my rating in blitz suffered exponentially, and now that I am much better than when I started (greatly due to the ability to carefully learn in rapid), I cannot get anywhere with my blitz rating because my Glicko in blitz is so low.

Also, I cannot get on any teams in leagues because of my past inability to start with rapid.

Many people believe that starting with blitz hurts your chess, and I agree. If you want to really improve, start on slower time controls and analyze your games after.
