"I played 15/10 games every day" ++ Excellent, but analyse your lost games.
"solved puzzles" ++ Good as a warm-up.
watched all guide videos" ++ Not very useful.
"Which part should I focus to improve next?" ++ Blunder elimination and tactics.
"Should I start to learn popular openings in detail" ++ No.
"which openings are best for beginners" ++ As black play 1 e4 e5 & 1 d4 d5, as white 1 e4.
"improve on end-games"
++ Yes. Chess should be learned backwards: first 3 men, then 4, then 5.
"2. How should I best make use of analysis engines?" ++ Analyse your lost games only. Identify your losing mistake. How much time did you spend on it? How much time did you have available? Dit you consider the correct move? Why did you decide to play the error?
"I cannot understand the suggestion it gives" ++ Look at the lines it gives.
"Which lessons at chess.com are good for beginners like me?" ++ Endgames
Hi all, I started to play chess and registered an account at chess.com about 2 months ago. I played 15/10 games every day, solved puzzles, and have watched all guide videos. My ELO improved fast at the beginning but I am kind of stuck in 1000 ELO currectly. And I need some advice on these questions:
1. Which part should I focus to improve next? Should I start to learn popular openings in detail (if so, I also would like to know which openings are best for beginners), or focus on improving middle-game (developing pieces, making good pawn structures ...), or improve on end-games (checkmating, promoting ...) ?
2. How should I best make use of analysis engines? I know stockfish is very strong, but sometimes I cannot understand the suggestion it gives since it never explains to me why. And without fully understanding analysis engines, it is difficult for me to review my games and improve on mistakes.
3. Which lessons at chess.com are good for beginners like me? I think this question is much related to the first one.
