How can I improve at 284 elo?

Hello, I'm just wondering how I can improve at this elo. I've read before that people at this elo should be extremely "paranoid" of the moves they make, how effective is this and what should I think about more in a game? I regularly blunder my queen.

Maybe we could play a practice game and I can give tips for improvement.

Google ‘opening principles’.

You will find a small set of ‘rules’. One of them is not to bring your queen out before you developed all your pieces.

That will definitely help you.

Regularly do not blunder your Queen and you’ll get to 500 Elo at least

Try these:

blunder check. I noticed your game and that is a quite hard diagonal, but just blunder check and you will never blunder checkmate or a piece again.

Do not play the Alekhine's. Your knight will be harassed. On move 2, you had an opportunity for a free pawn.

Do not get tunnel vision.

Notice your opponent's blunders and do a blunder check for them.

Against the Alekhine's, play e5. This kicks the knight and is the most common against the Alekhine's.

In the 4 Knight's Italian, your opponent can sac the knight and fork your knight and bishop next move, so play the 4 Knight's Scotch or something else.

Other than that, you have some pretty good tactics like forks. In fact, in your most recent game, you did not play like a 280, but rather a 650, which is good.

I can teach you EXACTLY how to think during the game (opening, middlegame and endgame). Your chess understanding will never be the same and you will improve a lot. I charge $10/h, but if you can’t afford too many lessons, don’t worry. I can teach you a lot in an hour. Here to help if you are interested.

Well, the answer is obvious, isn't it? You should be thinking "don't blunder the queen".

In general, you should use your time to think and try not to make elemental blunders.

Look at this game:

When you played the worst blunders (move 6, 14, 21 and 22), what were you thinking? The answer is "nothing", as you made those moves in a few seconds. Don't do this. Use your time and think. If you need more time, play longer time controls.

Practice your openings and endgame. Analyse the games you have won, lost and drawn. Practice good openings and look at their variations. Do puzzles to make calculating easier.

You should just try to look for hanging pieces every move. Learning basic strategies (forks, skewers) could also help you.

Thanks all for the help and replies. I'll remember all of these to take into consideration for my next game.
