as soon as the game starts, I switch to focus mode which hides the chat.
How do you all deal with impatient players?

It makes absolutely no sense to start a long game if you don't have the time or the patience for that time control. Your opponent knew what they were getting into when they started the game. If someone purposefully lets their clock run down to 0 in a losing position then that's obviously bad manners, but as long as someone is simply using their time to find the best moves then their opponent has no right to complain.
Earlier this week in a 3/2 game i had an opponent that would chat "hurry up" and "go" every single move. I typed back: "Its my time to do as i want with" So when that didn't work, he started typing how he was Magnus Carlsen, and then he was Bobby Fischer. So I asked him the obvious question: "Which one are you?" So his thinking process is now: "Crap...None of this is working." So how does the game end? You guessed it. He lets the clock run out.
Haha, imagine not even having the patience for a 3|2 game. What a joke. He also had a pretty weak trolling game. He should have at least come up with something somewhat believable.
One of my recent correspondence (Daily) opponents got into a lost position in both of our games and purposefully used the full 3 days per move to stall for a while (he was moving very quickly before). Eventually he gave up and finally let the games time out but it was very annoying.
I dont think its lack of patience. I have seen this numerous times, and i believe an opponents way of trying to "rattle" an opponent. The lack of patience people are easy to smoke out. They move fast form move 1, and I will take 5 seconds on each move from move 1. They last about 5 moves and then start with the nutty chatting saying hurry up, and such.
Sort of like online chess hustlers. The difference is that online you can just mute any annoying player and then punish their impulsive moves.
