How long did it take you to get an elo of 1000 in chess.

I'm trying to get to 1000 elo. Its not easy but I'm getting there slowly. I usually lose games because I sacrifice my pieces. Its just so tempting, lol.

i don't think online games should be for serious chess improvement. i just use it for wasting time when i'm bored.
OTB chess is more fun and helps you improve more.
true, playing tournaments is so much more fun
I've played like 10 otb tournaments so abt 40 or 50 games or so and its only helped me not that much

That's an obvious lie.
Even those who claim 2 months are a bit suspicious.
For reference, it took Magnus Carlsen more than 3 years.

It remains a lie. Obviously you didn't learn chess one day before playing at the 1000 level. That's completely impossible.

IM GONNA TRY MY BEST TO LEAVE THIS COMMENT WITHOUT GETTING SOMEONES FEELINGS HURT. tHE TRUTH IS, yOULL PROBABLY NEVER HIT 1000 ONLINE "BECAUSE".... CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A DRUMROLL NOW? SO MANY PEOPLE "A WORD THAT RHYMES WITH "HEAT" .". JUST PUT A C IN FRONT OF THAT WORD. iF YOU PLAY 10 MINUTE GAMES, IT GIVES YOUR OPPONENT ENOUGH TIME TO IMPUT THE MOVES INTO THE MACHINE. SO IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE, SIMPLY PUT THE GAME TIMER ON 5MIN GAMES AND YOULL SHRINK THE POOL FROM 50% OF YOUR GAMES TO 25%. YOURE WELCOME. MY FEELINGS GET HURT EVERY TIME THEY ERASE MY WORDS FROM THE WEBSITE BUT NOBODY SEEMS TO CARE ABOUT THAT BECAUSE ITS A BUSINESS AND HUMANITY COMES SECOND TO MOST SPINELESS HUMANS.

Took me about 10 months. I knew the basics of how pieces moved going in, but didnt understand any openings, etc.

magnus started as a young child you can look at my chess.com overview ignoring blitz bc I had some prior chess experience but from when I started playing seriously it took me from maybe October or November to january

it took 9 years of very hard work and effort and countless non-nonalcoholic drinks to get from 1275 to 1000 and below. Maybe 2-3 months to recover from the 1000 illness
Here? 1 day, first day rapid, blitz on and off now like 960 got to 1100 blitz. 1,000 here is nothing simply because theres so many players here. I think 2,000 would be a bragging point here, but again theres 1,000s here that are ranked over 2,000, so I think perhaps don't worry about elo at all imo.
