That's an obvious lie.

Even those who claim 2 months are a bit suspicious.

For reference, it took Magnus Carlsen more than 3 years.

you can look at my game History

It remains a lie. Obviously you didn't learn chess one day before playing at the 1000 level. That's completely impossible.

Took me about 10 months. I knew the basics of how pieces moved going in, but didnt understand any openings, etc.

#231, suspicious? Maybe, but you can check my account for poof. People underestimate the power of free YouTube videos- additionally I have good natural pattern recognition and am a quick learner.

Also- I technically did start playing 2 weeks before I made an account. I played quite a few games with my brother and checked out a local chess club during that time. But I played no more than 50 games

#237, btw when I say check my account I mean you can actually see improvement unlike the other guy- if you look at the gradual growth through many games or look at the increase of play by looking at the games themselves

magnus started as a young child you can look at my chess.com overview ignoring blitz bc I had some prior chess experience but from when I started playing seriously it took me from maybe October or November to january

like a year on rapid

Avatar of Idrinkyourhealth3

it took 9 years of very hard work and effort and countless non-nonalcoholic drinks to get from 1275 to 1000 and below. Maybe 2-3 months to recover from the 1000 illness

3 months on rapid lol

Otb or chess.com

Here? 1 day, first day rapid, blitz on and off now like 960 got to 1100 blitz. 1,000 here is nothing simply because theres so many players here. I think 2,000 would be a bragging point here, but again theres 1,000s here that are ranked over 2,000, so I think perhaps don't worry about elo at all imo.

I think I'm done with chess, this site has ruined my outlook on the game.

You had previous chess experience, as you said. You can't just ignore that and pretend that it doesn't matter.

Count it in, and you'll have a more believable number.

Ah yes this is an interesting perspective.

I played age 7-9 with grandpa a few times maybe like 5-6 times total...

then with a dude at highschool about 2-4 times..

then online at the age of 29 I was 500-600 elo after about one month...

Then maybe a year until 1000.

So it's difficult to count the early age as a thing cuz it wasn't serious but we can call it a total of 2 years...

Well, yeah, you can just totally disregard 25+ years of experience like it's nothing. Why not?

No but a total of under 10 games scattered across years before the beginning of online is hard to count... but interesting perspective...
